Hannah Crawford Elementary School
Hannah Crawford Elementary is an "inviting" place for students in grades PreK-5 to attend as a part of a strong heritage of Excellence in the Colonel Crawford Local School System.
The Colonel Crawford School district received an "EXCELLENT" rating this past year from the Ohio Department of Education. Our student Attendance is 96% and our Performance Index Rating is 90%.
The Hannah Crawford staff is highly qualified and meeting weekly to improve our Annual Yearly Progress and number of State Indicators Met for the 2008-09 school year. Our building slogan for this school year is, Helping Students Shine in '08-'09."
We have implemented an "Honors Luncheon" program for students in grades 3-5 who have earned the Honor Roll distinction each quarter of the school year. We also offer mentoring and tutoring opportunities through the Ohio Reads and County Mentoring Programs. The goal is to be aware of where the students are academically and to provide whatever intervention is necessary to work toward success while making sure that the students are on target with state content standards and district standards as well. Our "Big Eagle Buddies" program utilizes high school students to inspire our "Little Eagles" to be good Eagle citizens daily.
To prepare our students in all areas of development we offer the regular academic curriculum as well as art, music, (vocal & instrumental), physical education, library, computer, D.A.R.E., and religious education (after school). Other services such as speech, hearing, occupational, physical and psychological therapies are available through the Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center located in Mansfield.
Our parents are active and interested in our students and volunteer for P.T.O. functions and in the classrooms as well. This partnering with staff makes Hannah Crawford a very special place and keeps the committment to excellence permeating throughout the Colonel Crawford Community.
