Colonel Crawford High School

Welcome to Colonel Crawford High School! On behalf of the faculty, administration, and staff, I would like to wish all students a successful 2008-2009 school year at Colonel Crawford High School. It is great to have you back! Regardless of whether you are a returning student or a member of the Class of 2012, I urge you to take advantage of the many educational and extra-curricular opportunities that this exceptional school can provide. I assure you that our staff will be dedicated to helping each of you develop to your maximum potential.

Colonel Crawford High School is a rural high school that offers many educational opportunities to our students. CCHS serves approximately 350 students in grades 9-12. Each year, 30-40 students attend Pioneer Career and Technology Center. CCHS is rated an “Excellent” high school by the Ohio Department of Education for the school years, 2007-2008, 2006-2007, and 2005-2006. This is a result of meeting 12 out of 12 state indicators on the Local Report Card. This is also the 3rd year in a row CCHS has been designated an “Excellent” high school by the State Department of Education. CCHS was also designated “Excellent” in 2003-2004 and 2002-2003. The staff and students at CCHS take great pride in the success of the Colonel Crawford district. Our staff is committed to providing students with a broad base of choices in all areas of academics and extracurricular activities. CCHS is continually looking for ways in which to improve the programs offered to its students.

Colonel Crawford has many students participate in the Post Secondary Education Option, allowing students to take college classes at Mansfield OSU, North Central State College, Marion Technical College, or Marion OSU as some of the universities or colleges at a student’s disposal.

Colonel Crawford High School has a strong academic tradition and is member in good standing with the Ohio High School Athletic Association. Colonel Crawford is a member of the “North Central Conference” which is made up of eight (8) member schools: Buckeye Central, Bucyrus, Colonel Crawford, Crestline, Ontario, Riverdale, Wynford, and Lucas. The “Eagles” participate in eleven (11) interscholastic sports for students.

I challenge you to join with your classmates, the faculty and the staff, in making your high school experience an excellent one. I challenge you to “Dare to Soar” here at CCHS. We are all a TEAM here. Together we will work through the tough times and enjoy the best of times. Let’s make this year the best that CCHS has ever had.

Good luck and have a great year!
